A Few Words from Brother Silas

Dear Salvatorian Friend and Co-Worker,

I am very happy to share with you that the Holy See has approved the date and place of the Beatification of Father Francis Mary of the Cross JORDAN, the founder of the Salvatorians. The Beatification Ceremony will take place on May 15, 2021, in Rome at the Archbasilica of Saint John Lateran.

Fr. Jordan's path to beatification began in 1942, when documentation of his life and works was sent to the Vatican for review. After Fr. Jordan was bestowed with the title "Servant of God," Salvatorians helped spread his reputation of holiness with more and more people around the world.

In 2011, Pope Benedict XVI officially announced that Fr. Jordan "lived a holy life," acknowledged the "heroicity of his virtues" and declared him "Venerable." The next steps - testimony and confirmation of a miracle - were needed before Fr. Jordan could be approved for beatification. On June 19, 2020 Pope Francis declared the authenticity of a miracle through the intercession of Fr. Jordan. This really is a momentous occasion for all of us in the Salvatorian community.

In addition to Masses and prayers celebrating Fr Jordan's beatification in May, the Salvatorian's will celebrate a Novena of Masses honoring the Immaculate Heart of Mary beginning Mother's Day, May 9th.   We appreciate on this day how blessed we are to know the love of Our Savior's blessed mother.  The lucky among us have known the blessing of having a devoted mother. Many of us have benefited from the nurturing of others who have touched our lives.  Our grandmothers, aunts, older sisters, beloved teachers or neighbors have in many ways given us that unconditional love that makes us who we are. In this time of hardship, we will say special prayers for those who have lost a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister or dear friend who were not able to be comforted by loved ones. There really is reassurance in knowing that our prayers and your prayers are being heard by our dear Lord. Prayer for the Intercession of Francis Mary of the Cross Jordan.

Please join us and honor you mother and those wonderful women who are so important in your life on Mother's Day, May 9th and throughout the Novena of Masses May 9 to 17. That is the perfect time to feel and remember all that motherly love that tells us we are treasured images of our Savior.

Please send me your intentions either online, by mail or by calling 1-800-254-4902. To honor your mother or a beloved woman in your life please send us her name so we can include her in the prayers offered through the Salvatorian's Immaculate Heart of Mary Novena of Masses.

May God continue to fill you with grace

Bro. Silas
